The Powers of the Novel: Plot

Plot is the incitement for the reader to think why am I being told this. It is a concealed design whose shape we might just about detect. So there’s a paradox about plot. It’s concealed, but we must see the signs of concealment. Not all novels have plots. 我是俗人，我爱plot novels！（听到主讲人断言并非所有小说都有plot，我还不屑地腹诽道哪本小说没有情节啊？听了半天才恍然大悟，原来plot在这场讲座中多意为“阴谋”，一种吊人胃口、扣人心弦的hook，而非叙述学意义上干巴巴的“情节”（对不起，是我僭越了（吐槽叙述学那段很好笑很过瘾
